Post Christmas - 28 Dec 2015

It was great to speak with you this week. Wow how time is flying.  Christmas here was great thanks to Papai Noel :)  Brazilians here treat every holiday the same. FESTAS! LOTS OF DRINKING, PARTIES, FOOD, DANCING, SHOUTING, AND MORE BEER. So we stayed in the house and exchanged presents.  Sorry I don´t have much to say because I talked with you on Friday. But i love you and will send pictures next week. Sister Jacobson Okay so i am just sending this to just the family, but this week again is another week without pday. I don´t know how to explain how tired and exhausted we are, but please if you could just remember us in your prayers again. My sisters here are just crying with exhaustion and I can´t help but let the tears fall as well.  I love you all so much. And don´t worry this week will pass by really fast and we will survive.  It was great to talk with you. I love you. Sister Jacobson

Mission Conference - 21 Dec 2015

Image
Okay this week was great. We had our mission conference which was good. The only thing that really frustrated me was that Presidente basically spent the whole time telling us how ´´this time next year he will be in his house´´. He is trunkier than some missionaries, which is sad to me, but what do you do.   I played Illumination for the talent show and everyone was pretty impressed. We had a great experience with Rodrigo´s family (Elder Brito, Bryan). He two nephews wanted to be baptized, but wanted answers about the church. One said he wanted God to give him a dream and me and my companion said, Okay, he will. The next day we prayed and fasted that he would have a dream. And he did. It was awesome. He is so 10 years old and when he was baptized he just cried and cried. It was really special.  So skype.....honestly all that I know is that it will be after 2 in the afternoon here. I have one hour this time so that is a blessing! But it will be in the after noon for...

Oh sad day and happy day. My favorite companion left me this morning. Wow I cried and cried and she cried and cried. Its amazing to me the people we have the chance to meet in our lives. Sister Narvaez is from Mexico and if I hadn´t served a mission, I probably would never have met my long lost sister. It is such a blessing and she will always have a special place in my heart. It was really hard for her to leave because this was her first area. Oh lots of tears. But she is ready to move on.  My new companion is Sister Lins a Brasileira. She has 6 months in the mission and is a sweet heart.  This week we had district conference in another city yesterday for church and it was amazing because we had so many people visiting that we didn´t have seats for everyone on the onibus so I was standing the whole 1 and a half ride to Mamanguape, but it was worth it. My mission presidente was there which is always a happy thing when i get to see him. Literally i love him and his wife so ...

Crazy Week - 7 Dec 2015

oKAY I am sitting here in the computer lab next to 5 boys playing a video game together and I am trying so hard not to be annoyed. But they are yelling and yelling....Go GO GO RUN KILL HIM KILL HIM. MINHA NOSSA Sorry this keyboard is terrible. This will be  a short email because not all of the keys are working.  This week was crazy. We started with a trip to João Pessoa for a council again. They are always great. I always learn alot.  Like I said this week was crazy. We were literally running from place to place trying to follow up with everyone. We had the baptism of a young woman. It was super special. Here the rule for baptism is if they have less than 16 years, they need to frequentar church for 3 months. So after three months, we had a really special meeting for her. The whole ward participated. She is really special because her family isn't really supporting her but she knows it is the right thing to do., Okay sorry I can't write more. I am  getting ...

Memory Card Back - 23 Nov 2015

Image
Okay good. I sent lots of pictures because I finally have a memory card! So this week was great. It started with my birthday so it can´t get better than that. The ward planned a surprise birthday party for me, MINIONS! It was the best and now everyone is calling me Sister Minion. hahaha and Andrew!!!! I cried and cried with happiness to hear your voice! Thank you for the video you sent Rayssa! Wow it was a grand surprise! I am so grateful. I can´t wait to see and hear all of you in just a little over a month :)  I hit 10 months this week also. So it was a week of anniversaries. Crazy how fast time is flying.  So this week me and my companion learned alot about diligence and obedience. This week we had a batismo all marked and prepared for and we noticed that because of this, we didn´t work with the same urgency as the week before. We still worked obviously and we obedient, but we were a little more relaxed. So we recommited this week to be even more obediente and diliege...

Darkest Night, Brightest Morning - 16 Nov 2015

Dear Family, First, Thank you all for the birthday wishes!! A birthday is the mission has started great. With eggs and flour all over me (Brazilian tradition). My companions are planning something I am sure of it for later. Its really hard to keep secrets when you live with the same people basically 24/7 hahaha I have lots of pictures but today we are in a new computer place that is pretty sketch so I am scared to use my card in the computer. So next week. Okay I can honestly say that this was the hardest week of my mission thus far and I hope for ever. We worked everyday from 9 to 9:30, walking all over the world. We returned home more discouraged everyday and after many tears and prayers, we were blessed with the courage to work the next day. To face the heat of the blazing sun, the doors slamming, the people not caring, and the Elders nagging for baptisms. Sorry I love Elders but sometimes we all need to remember that this mission is not just about baptism. ugh. okay. an...
