Week 3 - Good News - 10 Feb 2015

Olá Família!

Tudo bem? Amo vocés!!!

This week I really feel like has been a repeat of last week. We are doing the same things every day, eating, studying, learning, speaking, teaching, studying, eating more, and sleeping. This week really went by fast. This was my first week as a Sister Training Leader for the new sisters coming in and it has been fun and a little stressful. Some of the sisters aren't too thrilled about some of the rules we are asked to keep so it's hard for my companion and I because we don't want to be the bad guys...but oh well. We are working on it. We are the oldest missionaries in our zone so our district is really trying to set the standard high and be the best we can. I have really been blessed with a great district because we all are so dedicated to being as obedient and as focused as possible. I love them!! The Sisters and Elders!
I do have some good news. :) My visa has been processed and is just waiting for pick up so I will be headed to Brazil, however I think I am staying here in Provo to finish my last three weeks at the MTC here and then will just head straight to my mission, which in all honesty, I am extremely happy about. I am grateful that I came to this MTC, I know Heavenly Father knew what he was doing by sending me here. I have made the best friends and my teachers are by far the best thing of my life. Everyone tells us that we have the best teachers in the MTC and I definitely believe it. They both just love us so much and want nothing more than to help us be the best we can be.
Other than that, nothing crazy has happened. We did have a great devotional on Sunday by Brother and Sister Mills, the director of the International MTCs. It was the funniest things ever. Sister Mills is a riot. She was so giggly and was cracking jokes like crazy, I could not stop laughing. Their message was so good too, mostly about losing ourselves and going to work.
So forever and ever ago, Brother Bowser, our Ohio Patriarch, gave a fireside and asked us why we take the bread before the water in the sacrament. Well he didn't tell us why, he just said to figure it out. Well, seven years later I feel like I have finally found an answer. I am not entirely sure if it is accurate, but I was reading in Alma 12 and it talks about the first and second death. The first death is our temporal death, or the death of the body : bread. And the second death is our spiritual death that occurs when we sin and sin is often referred to as blood : water. I don't know if that makes any sense, but I thought I would share.
I love love love personal study. It is the best time.
So I don't know if you guys know about DearElder.com, but you can send me letters through it and it is free and they print them off every day!! It is the best, plus I would love to hear from you!

Well I think that basically sums up my week. We are going to the temple today and I am so excited! (PS. I have seen all three of the new videos now!!)

I love you all so much!

Love, Sister Jacobson
