First Day in Joao Pessoa - 4 March 2015

Oi Familia.
First I apologize for any typing errors because the keyboard here is very different.
To say the least, I have a very long way to go with Portuguese. a very long way.
my companion's name is Sister F. Alves and she is super nice. She knows a little bit of english, but not much. also she has been away with another sister in the hospital all night so i have been with all native sisters. i am one of two american sisters here. the president didn't even talk to me in english which was slightly disheartening. I know that the language will come with practice and it is hard to not be so frustrated on the first day, but it will come.
The flight here was pretty long, but in Sao Paulo we met up with the elder and sister that left out district in Provo when they got their visas so that was so exciting.
all my luggage made it safely thank goodness.
It is so so so so so so so so hot here. hot and so humid. I am just always sticky or sweaty or nasty just nasty. There is no point to wearing make up because it comes right off. Luckily today has been really cloudy with a nice breeze.
I wish i could tell you about my area, but i know nothing about it. The President and his wife attend the ward that is in my area so that is nice.
I live in an apartment with i think 4 sisters, but things have been a little crazy because we have 12 sisters in our apartment last night because it was too late for them to travel to their areas. Also some of the sisters are going home tomorrow so i am not sure the exact number. but it is just so hot. so hot and humid that is really all i can say.
I have been told that my area is a poorer part of Joao Pessoa and it looks alot like Jerusalem in some ways. (I am so grateful for that experience right about now, well always but now especially).
Well I love you. I think that is all my time, but I am not entirely sure. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING AHHHHH!!
But, I love it here. I am so excited to actually start teaching and stuff....when i can.
I love you.
I am trying to send a picture so we shall see. Again sorry if there are any typos, because i am typing in english everything is highlited with the red line so that is annoying.
this picture is of some sisters in the zone. My companion is not in it. Obviously i am the white one, but they all keep telling me i will be as dark as they are. They have some crazy tan lines on their feet from their shoes. hahaha.
Apparently sandals are allowed in this mission so I may be buying some. I am supposed to get groceries today, but i don't even know what kind of food to buy! Please tell me that this will get easier!
Well i love you i love you!!
