First Real Week in the Field - 9 March 2015
Hi Family!
This week was a little crazy because my companion spent Wednesday and Thursday in the hospital with another sister so i was in a trio with two other sisters. It was cool, but I felt like a tag-a-long because we weren´t in my area and I didn´t understand anything. But, the other sisters were good about trying to help me learn new words and communicate by acting things out. It was funny.
On Thursday night we went to the hospital and picked up my companion which I was so glad because I missed her so much. She speaks English pretty well which has been sooooooo incredibly nice for me. We spent Friday and Saturday walking e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e. Our area is huge and I love it! It is a mix of city and poorest of poor villages in the middle. I will have to take pictures of it.
Sunday was testimony meeting here and I knew as soon as the bishop said that that I needed to get up and share my testimony. I am really glad I did. The mission president is in our ward and his wife got up and said that my testimony was very powerful and that I will be a great missionary. Then three other people got up and said similar things. It was really sweet of them. But I still can´t understand most things hahaha everyone talkes so fast!
We found this family with two little girls on Saturday night. It was the first time that I opened my mouth without being asked. It was great. I couldn´t say much but I did bear my testimony and asked them to come to church. Unfortunately they were busy, but we are going back on Saturday and I am so excited!
The ward here is amazing. We have a lunch scheduled every single day!! I love the food. I don´t always know what I am eating, but it tastes good so I don´t ask.
Thank you for all the love and prayers. I am extremely grateful. This is definitely the hardest thing I have ever done and I know that it is forcing me to learn how to truly trust in the Lord. I am learning so much and yes it is so hard, and so stressful and I have so much to learn, but I love it.
I love you all and you are in my prayers!
Love, sister Jacobson
me and my companion Sister. F. Alves
