Week of Stretching - 22 June 2015

Hello my wonderful family,

Wow this week feels like it was a million years long. We spent the first few days of the week preparing for the missionary fireside we presented yesterday for our ward. We made mission calls for each family as an invitation to the fireside and collected pictures of all of the families with their calls to make a slideshow. It was a little crazy, and my companion and I had a few rough spots because I very much like to get things done, and she is okay with a little bit of procrastination. But, everything worked out great! We helped make name tags for every person, our mission president came and spoke and miraculously there was plenty of cake for everyone that attended. It was wonderful! The purpose of this activity was to help the members be more excited about missionary work, so I hope it worked!
This week is a special holiday in the North, I can´t tell you exactly what holiday but all i know is that we eat corn everyday. Everything is corn. Which I love. We had a huge stake activity for this holiday and I saw everyone from my first area that I love and it was the best thing ever!!!! I was so happy to see them and they were so happy to see me! Aubrey if you could please add all the Brazilian friend requests that would be great!! Thanks!!
Sister F. Alves is on her last week and it has honestly been a strain. I know that problem is I don´t entirely undstand how she is feeling, so I am not as patient as I should be when she doesn´t want to work or do anything, but it is really frustrating. I had a really bad moment where she was trying to get the other sisters to go buy food with her after 9 and I was being dragged along and I was so frustrated because we weren´t doing the right thing. I don´t think I handled the situation very well, but needless to say we all returned to the house quickly after I opened my mouth. But, don´t worry, there are no hard feelings. One thing I am learning is that sometimes its better to keep your mouth closed, but other times, YOU NEED TO SAY SOMETHING!
But anyway on to more happier things, I am finishing my study of Christlike attributes this week with charity. And I was reading Moroni 7:48 and an interesting thing I noticed was that in English it says to ´´pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart´´, but in Portuguese it says ´´Rogar´´ or ``beg the Father with all the energy of heart´´. I loved this because charity is something that we really need to be pleading for everyday. If we have not charity, we are nothing. If we have not charity, we cannot inherit the mansions which God has prepared for us. This will be a life-long quest of begging for the gift of charity.

Transfers are next week and I have heard two different stories of what will happen to me. One I will stay here and finish the training of a Hispanic sister or my area will be closed and I will go to another area. So who knows, but I will tell you next week!

I love love love you all!!!! I hope the move went well.

PAGEANT NEXT WEEK WOOOHOOOOOO!!!
